"About me--I am new to the faculty at the OSU College of Social Work, but have been a social work educator and researcher since 1987. My passion outside of work is nature photography, particularly underwater photography while SCUBA diving.

 Why I donated: I have been fortunate to be able to travel to many different parts of the world and see both wonderful and difficult sides of life in these places. The people that have been helped over the years by the organization to which donations are being sent are many and the help has been vital to them as individuals and to their communities, as well. Reading "Mountains Beyond Mountains" a few years ago led me to think about social work issues at a global level rather than the local level that I was used to. This prompted me to decide to support your efforts with this auction."

Rower Brings the Dawn--this is an image taken at dawn on the Chicago River several years ago. I was struck by the way the rising sunlight caught the rower's wake and it made it seem as if this person was actually bringing the dawn closer with every stroke. I liked the power behind that image.

  A huge thank you to the Dr. Begun in the College of Social Work at The Ohio State University for supporting our efforts to help the people in Haiti!

The item you are bidding on is a print of a photograph taken by Dr. Audrey Begun. It is pictured above in digital form. The actual print is matted on plain black blackcore to an 11x14 size so that it may be easily framed. This item will be shipped to the winning bidder or may be picked up locally upon request.

Bidding will be available from February 15th to March 8th at NOON.
